Job Roles

As a BA Consultant for the STARLIMS practice, you will be responsible to:

  • Gather, analyze and document requirements from laboratory subject matter experts
  • Align and optimize requirements with STARLIMS LIMS out of the box capabilities
  • Ownership and authorship of project documentation, e.g., user requirements
  • Liaise with the project manager, implementation team, and customer
  • Proactively participate in the implementation process to ensure design aligns with lab needs and priorities
  • Support testing, e.g., creation or execution of test scripts

Job Description

The incumbent demonstrates business analysis leadership to define client and partner needs.  You have hands-on experience defining requirements for STARLIMS implementations in the private and public sectors.  You apply your industry and laboratory process expertise to ensure user adoption of STARLIMS laboratory informatics systems and integrations. As a BA Consultant, you are a detailed-oriented team player with excellent intrapersonal skills.  You can demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure to drive successful implementations.  You are a motivated self-starter and possess the following skills, experience, and applied knowledge.

Desired Qualifications

You have at least five years of industry expertise as a hands-on Business Analysis experience with STARLIMS v10 or higher.  You have at least two years of experience with regulated industries, e.g., the Food and Drug Administration, pertaining to processes managed by laboratory informatics systems and technologies. You demonstrate refined skills to adapt to changing client needs and priorities.  Your business analysis skills incorporate an ability to map and translate lab processes to LIMS functions, including configuration and programming.

You can demonstrate verbal and written communication fluency in English.

Laboratory Informatics Experience:

  • STARLIMS v10 or greater
  • STARLMS Pharma, Manufacturing, Life Science, or Clinical
  • Detailed knowledge of STARLIMS capabilities;
    • Workflows, Integration Tools, ELN, Advanced Analytics, Stability, or Environmental Monitoring
    • STARLIMS Designer / Advanced Configuration
    • .NET application development
    • Oracle or MS SQL databases
    • xSQL
    • HTML5
    • Server-side Scripting Languages
    • Java Script Pages
    • Application to Application Interfacing and integration, e.g., APIs

Education and Training:

  • Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or similar science degree or experience
  • Applied knowledge of Computer System Validation
  • Applied knowledge of Business Analysis standards and practices, e.g., CBAP or similar
