A genomics company needed to tailor its LabVantage LIMS to fit its unique workflows and reporting requirements. Off-the-shelf functionality did not support their complex sample tracking and data management needs, making it difficult to maintain efficiency and compliance.

Solution:

CSols provided a LabVantage expert to support the client’s development team, focusing on incremental improvements and reducing reliance on custom coding. The consultant designed and developed feature enhancements, optimized workflows, and integrated LabVantage REST policies and Jaspersoft reports. This approach improved system stability, enabled better use of out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities, and ensured a maintainable LIMS for future growth.

Their internal resources were also overstretched, hindering progress.

This intervention salvaged the upgrade, providing the client with the necessary resources to finally achieve a functional SampleManager version 21 and a fully populated validation document control system.

The pharmaceutical company QA/QC function wanted to harmonize its smaller regional sites by replacing outdated and site based disparate LIMS while addressing issues like slow data extraction. The goal was to roll out STARLIMS across two sites every six months, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. Challenges included managing data segregation for future acquisitions, instrument interfacing, and extensive training.

Solution:

The CSols technical consultant created a user requirements specification and gap analysis for the STARLIMS implementation, configuring the system to meet those needs. Four environments were established for the project, with the consultant leading the technical aspects and providing training and support post-go-live. A custom continuous process validation module was developed, reducing defect identification time significantly.
